Hi, I moved from the mid-west to Maine thirty years ago, right after graduating from college. Maine has been a balm to my fighting, restless, often overwhelmed heart. This is where I am growing up, in the true sense of the phrase. This blog is where I'll document how this place both challenges and grounds me. You will see images of how Maine stuns in its quiet, craggy, tree-shrouded glory; read about the people who are important in my life; and how place and people can be a source of change and strength.

P.S. There is a new purpose for this blog, as of January 20, 2017--to track the movements of our new President. That's the "Trump Tracker" section. Maybe my need to document this will fade, over time. I hope not. That would mean I've gotten used to him. That will mean I've adapted to the opposite of what I feel is the American ideal. It will mean that I have become complicit. Additionally, I've added a page for my husband to clarify some of the economic/historical issues that arise in politics.
